Remembering Stella Chung
Stella Chung was a Hopkins Freshman and HST board member before her sudden passing in early 2020. Before arriving at Hopkins, Stella graduated from Torrey Pines High School, where she was a compassionate leader at school and in her community. At Hopkins, Stella flourished in HST, placing in tournaments and being elected to the board within months.
In addition to her skill in Taekwondo, Stella was a talented violinist, having played since the age of 6. After performing in the TPHS orchestra, Youth En Gedi Ensemble, and San Diego Youth Symphony in high school, Stella continued her musical endeavors as a member of the Chamber Music Ensemble at Hopkins.
Stella is remembered for her poise and passion, her joy and kindness, her warmth and her humility. She devoted her time to work with children, and wished to pursue emergency medicine to help people in their times of need. She constantly gave to others while asking nothing in return. It is her heart and her strength that allowed her to put forward her best into everything she did. We are honored to have known her.
